A one year journey
I can’t believe this is my blog’s first anniversary! A whole year has gone by since I began this project. I have to thank to my friend Ana Flores for needling me; she had been asking me for quite some time why I didn’t blog. The truth is that until I had my second baby in 2013 and I was staying at home with him, I had no idea what a blog really WAS. As a child I was never one to keep a diary, and that’s what I used to think blogs were. So, at the beginning, I began writing just for the sake of writing — to keep the creative juices flowing. It was my first time staying at home as a full time mom, and I was missing having something to do just for me.
At first I was not too clear on what I wanted to write about, and this site had no clear niche. I was mainly writing about my kids, what was going through my head, posting recipes I loved, and basically just learning the whole blogging world and how it worked. I joined online groups of bloggers and kindred spirits, started a fan Facebook Page, got more into Google +, reluctantly joined Twitter and revamped and organized better my Pinterest profile. Step by little step, Mami Tales started taking shape and defining itself more and more. What began as a way to share with my family and friends stories, recipes and anecdotes, now has a following by people I only know through the internet community. Mami Tales subscribers are now over 150, and I have over 1,000 followers in different platforms of social media. THANK YOU ALL! Each comment and share makes me feel that what I write is worth reading, which inspires me to keep writing this blog.
