My Review
The Dragon Grammar Book: Grammar for Kids, Dragons, and the Whole Kingdom is a must have resource for English writing children. This book is the little brother of Stunk and White’s Elements of Style, which I consider a bible for any English-language writer. With very clear descriptions, Diane Mae Robinson breaks down the English language in bite-sized pieces with very clear examples on how to write correctly. With the aid of her Pen Pieyu characters, and in a fun way, the reader can easily search and understand the different components of the English grammar.
As a non-native English writer, I wish I could have had this book in my hands when I first began writing in this language. As I mentioned before, the book is broken in very comprehensive chapters along with exercises, to ensure that grammatical rule is fully understood. Again, it is not a book to sit down and read, but to use as a fabulous resource to guide older elementary school kids and middle-graders into the next level of writing.
If you have a budding writer at home, or want a refresher to help your children write better, this is a must-have addition to your library.
Note: I received a free e-copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
