Through Mother-daughter Book Reviews I had the opportunity to read this novel, provided by its author in exchange for my honest opinion and review.
I am an avid reader of crime novels, and I found Gunhus take on the genre very interesting. This story is not about finding who the killer is (the famous whodunnit), but trying to unravel the mystery of why the heroin of our story is trying to catch the killer at all costs.
The study on both characters is really deep and engaging — we get into the motives behind why Arnie (the serial killer) is killing, and why Allison (our lead character) suspects him and traps him in his own game. It is a cat and mouse well orchestrated dance that turns into a page-turner read. If you’re in for a thrilling read, go ahead and give Killer Within a try! I’m certainly hoping to see more Allison McNeil novels coming out…
