Little Miss Devious, formerly known as Little Miss I, wrote this note in the morning, “without” my knowledge (fortunately her Daddy took a picture of this and let me know!):

LittleMissDeviousNoteThis Friday is Halloween, so I had told Little Miss I that we wouldn’t be having cooking class this week. If you follow my blog, you know that I prepare a book and a recipe to cook with my daughter and her friend once a week — or at least we were doing that before school wrapped for the summer (recipes and book for children can be found here). We loosely started again classes this fall, but so far we haven’t made anything worth publishing yet! As she saw me prepare for the next recipe, which will be Apple pie (one of her favorite things in the world), she decided to go behind my back and send her friend Miss Z’s mom a note to “reschedule” our cooking class.

I have to talk to her, as it is pretty early (she’s just 6!!) to be “forging” notes! Too soon to be Little Miss Devious, don’t you think?

  1. She’s a bright one. How are you going to handle this?

    • I did talk to her yesterday, as soon as I got her back from school. I told her it was a very bad thing to pretend to be someone else, and speak in their name. She said she hadn’t realized it was a bad thing, and she promised she’d never do it again. We also reinforced the whole thing with her dad at night, and he turned the tables on her asking how she would feel if he’d write a letter to her teacher saying bad things and then sign Little Miss I’s name… and I think that made it crystal clear to her!
